Call to Prayer…

Today, I especially pray.  Will you join me?

“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.  This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth…Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension,”

~ 1 Timothy 2:1-4; 8

*****

“…and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now My eyes shall be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place,” ~2 Chronicles 7:14-15

“…The fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much,” ~James 5:16b

*****

“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving,” ~Colossians 4:2

“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst,” ~Matthew 18:20

    1. Thank you with all my heart, David!! Yes, I’m so thankful to have met you and other like-minded believers who place a premium on prayer for the church and those who have authority in government! And you “get” my painting completely.. I love what you said about “dark time of nation’s history”… the sky in my painting is stormy. Yet, I pray and seek God’s illumination for those who lead us as well as for individuals in our country. Thank you for your encouragement, David! It means the world to me coming from such an accomplished writer as you! God bless you big time!

      1. I was totally out of line and my lower disks weren’t moving much plus the sacral joint was locked up. I did happen to run into an old acting friend who works there as a massage therapist so that was fun. I should get some relief with 5 visits, he said. Right now I’m pretty sore, but am hopeful.

      2. Oh, wow, Kathy! I do understand to some degree! I played tennis when I was younger and when I delivered my mean serve, I frequently threw out my back. Chiropractors can do amazing things, but the process definitely makes one sore. How wonderful, though, that you met up with an old friend while you were there! God sends blessings even in the little things. Will continue to pray for you! ❤ and gentle hugs!

  2. Thank you Lynn. Is there anything more important than prayer? And how quickly, in the midst of the demands of the day, we (I) can get distracted or sidetracked. LORD, keep us grounded and focused on You. Open our hearts, eyes, minds and ears to Your Spirit, so that our priorities are Your priorities and can bring us together in common purpose for Your Good. We love you. Thank you, In Jesus Name, Amen

Yes very True what you shared Lynn, Prayer is vital in our Ministering in Jesus’ Name, we are His Arms, Hands and Feet in this hurting World, our Prayers from the Heart being empowered by The Holy Spirit are very Powerful.

John 14:13-15 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my Name that will I do that The Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my Name I will do it. If ye Love me keep my Commandments.

Psalm 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not Sinners but if any man be a Worshipper of God and doeth His will him He heareth

Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my Heart The Lord will not hear me but verily God hath heard me, He hath attended to the voice of my Prayer. Blessed be God which hath not turned away my Prayer, nor His Mercy from me.

    1. Hello, Anne! Wow. A double kindness in your visits today! Thank you so much for stopping by. I have been painting on and off all my life. But I got serious about it about 10-11 years ago. God deserves all the credit for my art journey. Perhaps, I should do a post about it. 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration. I think I’ll try to get to that a week or two from now. God bless you greatly, Anne!

  5. Dear Lynn, We, the women who are prayer warriors and Christ lovers are few around, but many all over the world and all over the centuries. Thank God for blogs like yours. I love to meet with sisters in Christ who have ‘experience’ in prayer, who know the power of unity in the Spirit so that together, we ‘avail much’. God bless you with His strength. Love, Lia

      1. Dear Lynn, I pray that God will open your eyes to the need of wisdom in ministry. As women we often make the mistake to care for others too much or too long. We deplete our spiritual storage because of unsatisfied emotions. The devil attacks and we feel bad for ‘doing good’. Silent bitterness is a common complain with older Christians especially the women. There are times when the Holy Spirit restrains me to pray for somebody who is in obvious need. It sounds strange… But I have to trust God in all things, even in ministry. Like Jesus, I too had to learn ‘obedience thru the things I suffered’. I had to learn to submit and to be led by the Holy Spirit even in the area of prayer. Seasons of suffering for me is the call, the reminder, to obey God more than before. If much is given, much is expected… God bless you Lynn! Your sister in Christ, Lia.

(Please forgive any mistakes in writing. English is mot my primary language. Thank you)

      2. Hello, kind and thoughtful Lia! Thank you so much for your prayers. They are truly a blessing to me. I will pray for you as well. You have a tremendous task, pastoring a church alongside your husband. Although I have never served as a pastor, my husband and I were in full-time ministry together for 20 years. I tell you this simply to say that I have tremendous admiration for you and empathy for you regarding the workload that you carry! For this reason, you can be sure that I will pray for you as well: for discernment as you weigh each need, and for strength and refreshment as you fulfill your calling. I’m delighted to have met you here in the “blogosphere.” And by the way, your English is excellent! There is no need to apologize for it. 🙂 God bless you greatly…beyond all that you can imagine!! ❤
