“…We went through fire and through water; Yet You did bring us out into a place of abundance.”~Psalm 66:12
“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD” ~Psalm 27:13-14

From an early age, I became well acquainted with the push and pull of surf upon shore.
You see, my dad was an oceanographer and as such, he had a way of demystifying and deconstructing any romantic notions that I held about the sea.
Each life journey includes rough waters of its own.
And so I learned that pounding waves, over time, chip away at rocky coastlines, rearranging and leaving behind the makings of summertime sandcastles…
Of course, each life journey includes rough waters of its own. And the deep pounds and washes over even the most stalwart of hearts. At such moments, it’s a struggle to surface for air.
Whatever you do, hang on.
There’s infinite hope in this: the Master rides the untamed seas. Despite the thunder and headwinds you may face today, He will not allow this storm to overcome you.
The Master rides the untamed seas.
Recognizing that any new creation takes time, wait for Him. After all, in the hands of our loving Abba, that very fierce surf will reshape, rearrange and renew.
Yes, beyond rough seas is golden sand. And it’s worth it. Oh, so worth it…
So amazing to know that he is in control of every second in our lives and even beyond. Praise God in all things❤️

Hi Lynn, there are those who tear down and there are those who build up, you are a builder, part of God’s wave that builds up the body of Christ. Thank you. Blessings.

Thank you with all my heart, Bruce… it means the world that you should note that because that is my heart for this blog–to encourage others in their walk and to do so primarily by exploring the lives of imperfect but God-loving Biblical saints. Your blog is such an extraordinary resource for anyone serious about studying the Word of God! Thank you for honoring me by reading here. Blessings to you, my friend.

Beautifully written. The Master does ride the untamed seas. ❤
And I love your painting so much. I really wish to paint like this one day! I somehow end up with more oil and struggle to find this rough finish balanced with well blended colours. Superb! 🙂

Oh, T.R.! I’d love to participate… unfortunately, my computer is dying or some sort of aggravating thing like that. :-\ I have to take it to the computer ER… but hopefully, it’ll be back in working order soon! I’ve scheduled a post for tomorrow that tells my readers this. But I wished for you to especially know this since you are so kind to honor me in this way! Oh that is completely okay! The neat thing about awards is that you do not have to do them if you don’t want to, or you can write them wayyyy later after your nomination. I waited months to write my award 🙂 no big deal! If you ever want to writer the award when your computer isn’t giving you trouble, you are more than welcome to do so ! 🙂 Thank you for being kind enough to let me know. Peace be with you!!! 🙂

You are a terrific writer. I felt tears welling up when I read this. First I’m relieved that I’m not the only one in rough waters at times. Second, I appreciate the power of Jesus to get me through. I remember being caught in an undertow. It took me hours to swim to shore miles down the beach. Nature is powerful enough. Surely the creator of nature is even more so.

Yes, any new creation takes time. I typically get so impatient and begin doubting myself instead of trusting the Master. Indeed, all is well.
Beautiful post Lynn and your paintings are incredible. Thank you for sharing them along with your wonderful words of wisdom. Deb
