Art and the Holiday Season…

“There is an appointed time for everything.  And there is a time for every delight under heaven–“~Ecclesiastes 3:1

Dear Blogging Friends,

This past week, I have wrestled with a decision regarding time management and my current commitments.  Each year, as we head into the holiday season, my workload increases exponentially. In other words, the “river” floods.

The final months of the calendar year predictably require long hours in my studio and on the road.  Last year, I took a sabbatical from my art galleries in late summer and early autumn in order to keep up with the demands for art production during the holiday season.

Unfortunately, taking a sabbatical from the galleries that exhibit my work is not an option this year.  Understandably, I have spent a great deal of time in prayer during recent weeks to discover how God might wish me to navigate this particular “crossing.”  It has become clear that at least for the duration, I need to step back from blogging (i.e. take a blogging break).

For this reason, during the next several holiday-laden months, I will not be posting my regular meditations. Instead,  I hope to periodically post art with scripture.  Needless to say, I expect my posts will necessarily be less frequent.  In addition, I will be closing the comment and “like” features temporarily.

I promise that I will still read your blogs, but in the interest of time, I will be limiting my response to a simple “like.” The reason for this is simple: during this time, I will not be able to spend much time in my home office and so will not be able to read and respond to your posts from my desktop computer.   Honestly? Making comments is more difficult when I am on the road since I do not wield my iPhone keypad very well.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for all of this, and know that even though I am not commenting as per my usual habit, I am still reading your posts with great interest and enthusiasm.

During this blogging break, I will continue to regularly post Scripture and art on the Through Ink and Image Facebook page, and on that page, in late autumn, I hope to announce the availability of Archival quality prints of my paintings paired with Scripture.

Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding!  I’m truly grateful for each of you.  Your friendship is an extraordinary blessing from God!

With much love in Christ, Lynn
